The Road to Emmaus group (RTE) was created in 2023 for single Catholics aged 35–50 in our Maronite Eparchy. With a mission to establish new friendships with like-minded people, we aim to provide a welcoming space for single Catholics navigating life and faith together, walking in faith, building meaningful connections, fostering a stronger sense of community, and supporting one another spiritually and socially.
Our current membership of 160 men and women come from multiple churches across the Eparchy. The RTE committee organises an official event on the first Saturday of every month, alternating between social activities and spiritual gatherings. In 2026, these have included walks, group lunches and dinners, trivia nights, golf driving range outings, and spiritual formation events.
A particular highlight of the year was our spiritual retreat in Goulburn, hosted by Father John-Paul Bassil, which provided members with an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and fellowship. We have also been blessed to welcome back our chaplain, Father Danny Nouh, whose guidance and support continue to enrich the spiritual life of the group.
